Kris & Rob were first introduced right after a Wisconsin football game on September 7, 1996. Well, actually that's not true. Kris really didn't want to meet any new boys, and especially didn't want to meet this one. And as a result, Rob had to wait until that night when Kris gave in to her roommate's wishes and went to meet this guy and some friends at a bar called Madhatters. Little did she know what was in store for her. After a ton of laughs and some great conversation an useless tidbits, a relationship was starting to grow.
It just so happened that they had the same Calculus class. It took a little bit, but soon Kris joined Rob in the back of the class. (Only nerds sit up front.) And soon after, Kris & Rob began competing for grades in Civil Engineering courses. In 1998, Kris and Rob would find themselves apart for 8 months while on internships, only seeing each other on weekends that Rob's Bronco decided to run. That was a trying, but worthwhile, time. Rob sooned earned a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering in December 1999, and Kris followed with a B.S. in Environmental Engineering in May 2000. Rob began working for HNTB Corporation as a Transportation Engineer in January of 2000, while Kris decided to try her skills in Pharmacy School.
Two years later, serious conversations lead to dicussions on engagement and eventually marriage, so Kris decided to join Rob for some shopping at area jewelers. Two weeks later, with a hole in a magazine and trembling fingers, Rob asked Kris to marry him on January 4, 2002.
