News from Kris & Rob:

October 21, 2003 :: 10:46 PM

At last, we've made it through our ninth and final wedding this past weekend. And boy, what a busy weekend it was. But first, we'd like to wish Matt & Jan, Emily & Dave, Kristi & Ben, Kelly & Brad, Megan & David, DeeAnn & Matt, Larry & Meghan, Samia & Steven, and Jenny & Zac all the best in their new lives together. Now to get ready for Beth & Jason, Paul & Jess, and Tracy & Eric (maybe more?) next year.

As for the weekend, it was great to see Christina, Kristin, Paul & his Friends, Dara, Scott & Jess, Kristi, Cyndi & Kris, Jenny & Zac, Erin & Mitch, and everyone in the office on Sunday.

We're ready to relax, and hopefully will be able to spend a weekend doing nothing but watching movies all day.

Celebrating Nana's 80th Birthday in the greater Chicagoland area, we just couldn't resist to power of the familiar blue building with yellow trim beckoning us from the tollway. What with our swanky digs, we obviously needed to stop and make sure we outfitted ourselves with some more furniture! A couple of hours, Swedish meatballs, and fifty cent hot dogs later, we were on our way home, overflowing with more domestic goodies. Kris claims that with her purchase of 10+ wicker baskets (all of which conveniently fit in existing Ikea shelves), "We will be the most organized family around!" I contend, however, we won't be the most organized, but rather have the most baskets to hide our mess in. But, the new coffee table looks nice, if long. It should look good with the new couch that will be here sometime next week, (We hope!) and then all major domestic purchases will be complete. (I hope!)

Although we live in an urban setting, we are finding that the apartment has all the fixins' of a real home. There's no more hunting for a spot on the street with the parking spot in the back. In the kitchen there's counter space, cupboards, a garbage disposal, and new dishwasher to replace the old one. We've got pictures on the walls, and presents received from the wedding that we couldn't open because of space, are now opened and put away. There are even some drawers that are still empty! I'm sure we'll find something to fit in those real quick. And the biggest sign of our domestication will be the washer and dryer showing up on Monday. No more driving to the laundromat. Just throw a load in. No messing with quarters or broken washers. It's too good to be true.

August 18, 2003 :: 11:14 AM

Wow, I guess it's been a while since I last posted. A couple of family members expressed interest in seeing more Kris & Rob updates continue here. I guess I can appease them and get this kickstarted once again. RobbyB.com will remain devoted as the main site, with updates concentrating on RobbyB things. Here, we will concentrate on Kris & Rob things. Here what Kris & Rob have done since last November...

December: Thanksgiving was again celebrated at Peter and Wendy's in Virginia. The family vistied Harper's Ferry, and the Washington D.C. Mall. Christmas was at the Beuthling's and everyone was there.

January: New Years was celebrated at The Blue Velvet Lounge with friends. A week later, Kris & Rob were off to St. Lucia for their honeymoon.

February: Kris & Rob participated in the King Pins Bowling League. They got screwed out of winning the beer drinking trophy, but Rob did finish as top male bowler.

March: Jan & Matt got married in Santa Barbara, CA.

April: Not much happened to Kris & Rob (at least that I can remember).

May: Emily and Dave's wedding on the beautiful Monona Terrace Rooftop Gardens.

June: Kris's cousin Kristi's wedding in Holmen, WI.

July: Preparation begins for the barrage of moving and weddings in August. Up to this point Kris & Rob have attended three weddings. In August alone, they will attend four.

Current: Kris & Rob moves into a new apartment in between attending four weddings and a beer festival. The new apartment nicer, bigger, and has a view. The only problem is that it has mice.

Future: September is shaping up to be quite busy as well. There's an anniversary, volunteering for the Wisconsin Ironman, Badger Football games, and one more wedding.

November 18, 2002 :: 12:11 AM

Kris and I have a few busy months ahead of us. First it's off to Virginia and the Washington DC area for Thanksgiving with her family, then Christmas here with my family, then we are off to Sandals St. Lucia Halcyon for our honeymoon, then a couple of holiday parties later...we're off to sunny Santa Barbara for Matt & Jan's wedding in March.

We did get the professional photos back, and they are outstanding. Even though we are married, it still seems like there's still a lot to do about the wedding. Let's just hope we can find enough time to get it all done. I am still working on the slide show CDs. I have made good progress, but still have yet to finalize things. Maybe Santa will bring one to your stocking?

October 15, 2002 :: 10:05 PM

More photos have been updated. On the left, click on "Wedding Pictures" to go to the main photo page. Recent entries include Carson's Pics, and Matt & Jan's white-bordered wonders. We're ticking off things on the to-do list here at home, so those of you who would like a copy of "Kris and Rob - Through the Years" from the reception, it will be coming soon. Hopefully. Stay tuned.

September 29, 2002 :: 01:41 AM

The beginning of the fruits of scanning are starting to develop. I scanned in pictures from the rehearsal dinner and put them together in a slide show. On a web site note; from now on all slide shows will start from this page. It will be updated as I get more pictures scanned in, so check back often. Bookmark it even.

September 25, 2002 :: 09:08 AM

We finally got the disposable cameras developed. Turns out there were more than 350 pictures taken by our guests. There were many, many great shots. We've put most of them in an album already. Now it's time to start scanning the good ones. Hopefully we'll be able to send many out via e-mail. The cream of the crop will make a slide show that will be presented here later.

September 12, 2002 :: 12:16 AM

Danny (a.k.a. the chosen one) was kind enough to send on his celebrated toast to me. I am just geeky enough to put it on-line. It's not exactly what he said, as there were some ad-libs ("just one of the girls"), but it's pretty close nonetheless.

September 09, 2002 :: 12:30 PM

I don't know if there are enough words to describe how great the wedding was. It was simply a fairy-tale weekend. Kris was so gorgeous, she took my breath away. The bridesmaids were beautiful and the groomsmen were handsome. The weather was sunny and warm. It was wonderful to see everyone there. Kris and my only wish was that the day would have lasted twice as long so we could sit and talk with everyone. We thank you all for traveling from near and far to celebrate with us.

I have received many inquiries on the status of Kris and Rob.com now that we are married. It will be maintained for some time yet as we add pictures and tell more stories about the weekend. So keep checking back for more updates!

Also, there were many requests for a copy of the slide show shown at the reception. I am looking into the best way to distribute the file. It is too large to post here, so I will probably burn it to a CD to send it out. To request your copy, please use this form to request a copy. (Even if you asked me for a copy previously, I would still like you to fill out the form.) If you fill in your e-mail, I will send you a note before we send it out.

Thanks again to everyone who came. We had a great time seeing you all!

September 06, 2002 :: 08:12 AM

I am off to Waukesha for the weekend's activities. Kris should be following after her class. Next time I post, I will be married! Whoa!! Knock on some wood that everything goes off without a hitch.

September 03, 2002 :: 10:08 AM

We're back from our respective bachelor and bachelorette trips, and working on final details for the wedding. The Brewers, well...they were the Brewers. But Kris loved Vegas and vows one day to return and get some of her money back. (Don't we all?) The big day is really getting close. We are both very excited and nervous as the big day approaches.

August 29, 2002 :: 02:14 PM

Kris picked up her dress yesterday. All it needed was one fitting or so I am told. I am not allowed to see it, and I haven't. I only know that it's white.

She's off to Sin City with her friends for the weekend & Badger football game. My plans include a double-header at Wrigley Field on Monday -- that is if the players don't strike. Otherwise it might be paintball. But good times should be had by all.

August 26, 2002 :: 01:51 PM

Kris and I just applied for our marriage license, which should be ready next week. It's getting more and more official as we get closer. Seating arrangements are being made, and the appropriate tent cards are going to be printed soon after.

August 25, 2002 :: 12:39 AM

Turns out we are old pros when it comes to getting our photos taken. The engagement pictures were a breeze and are excited to see the results later this week. I also met with the DJ today to plan out the party. It's shaping up to be a good time. All the final details are being ironed out and we're getting ready to participate in our respective bachelor/ette parties next weekend.

I also spent some time and created new editions of the Ceremony and Reception pages. After it's all said and done, I hope to update those with more pictures and stories from the day.

August 19, 2002 :: 10:10 AM

I know that we haven't posted here in a while, but there's been good reason for that. You see, we've been busy doing various things, such us packing, moving, and now unpacking. Most of the invitation responses have been received, and we're starting to get the seating arrangements in order. Kris is trying on her dress for the first time tomorrow and we are getting our engagement photos taken Thursday. The ceremony (I hopefully will update that page very soon.) is getting finalized, and slowly but surely, items are being checked off the To Do list. Less than 20 days and counting....

With less than three weeks to go, The Onion reports that a Wedding was Enjoyed By No One But Bride. I hardly think that this is true, but it's funny stuff nonetheless.

July 25, 2002 :: 08:58 AM

We are on the final, but busiest lap of the wedding planning marathon. Invitations have been sent, responses are being received, tuxes have been picked out, food has been tasted (it's mighty good, too!), and other (too many to mention here) details are panning out.

Directions: If you need more detailed directions, or would prefer them personalized, I have made an interactive map. There's also a link to print a bigger map if the first one was too small.

July 16, 2002 :: 10:59 AM

I took some time and scanned in some of the photos Kris and I have collected over the past six years. They tell a gruesome tale in eye-spectacle fashion, and many different hair styles. I put it all together in a slide show. Enjoy.

Kris and I have registered at the stores to the right:

Each store has our registry on-line and ready to buy direct from the internet. Just click on any one of the stores' logo, and you will be whisked away to their site. Contact me if you have any problems what-so-ever.

Update: Sears also has some items (mainly tools for Rob) on a registry there. Unfortunately, it's not accessible on-line.

July 08, 2002 :: 01:56 PM

It was for this very reason why we went with a reception hall where we would be the only wedding there.

June 12, 2002 :: 11:55 PM

Hi there! I was busy this past two weeks shopping for a florist. We decided to go with Waukesha Floral. I am really excited with Linda's ideas, so it should be a grand display. We had an awesome time at Minh & Linda's wedding, which will be a tough act for us to follow. We continue to finalize all the details as the BIG day draws nearer. (Did you see the countdown? We are now under ninety days!)

Here's the hotel information. We have rooms at the Radisson and the Marriott near Waukesha. They are both easily accessible from I-94 and within a short drive of all the hot spots (read: church and reception). We have blocks of rooms at both. The Radisson has rooms for Saturday only for $99, while the Marriott has rooms for both Friday and Saturday for $89. Before requesting a room with the 'Beuthling/Hahn wedding', check to see if you can get cheaper rates. (It's worked for me in the past.) Also, if you have any problems, contact me ASAP. To start reviewing the hotels, just click on the logos below:

If you have any other questions, don't be afraid to ask.

May 29, 2002 :: 11:32 PM

Here's another story thankfully Kris and I won't have to go through.

(The planning is moving along smoothly, in case you were wondering.)

May 24, 2002 :: 09:17 AM

I sure hope this doesn't happen to me. Here's a follow-up story.

April 19, 2002 :: 11:16 AM

A big congratulations goes out to my cousin Megan amd her new fiancé, David. (He's the boyfriend in the family page. Last week, while on vacation, they got engaged. Way to go guys!

While all that was going on, Kris and I started the registry process. It was very exciting. So far, we've picked out our dinnerware, our flatware, and our towels. There's much more to pick out, but at least we started. I have also started an on-line registry for all those tech-gadget type things that I would really enjoy. I also went and got fitted for Minh's wedding, and started checking out tuxes for our wedding. If you know of a good tux shoppe in the Waukesha area, please let me know.

April 08, 2002 :: 10:06 PM

Sorry for the long pause between updates. This one's a biggie, so hopefully it will make up for the time between posts. You can now meet the wedding party. Kris and I are very honored to have such a great group of family and friends surrounding us on our special day. (Betcha all didn't think I was so sappy, did ya?) I should emphasize that the page is not laid out in final pairing order. All things are subject to change.[edited: Tuesday, 9:30 AM]

We also found a photographer, and settled on hotels. If you need to make reservations now, me and I will forward the info on to you.

March 15, 2002 :: 11:48 PM

Big strides in the wedding planning this past week. First, we settled on a DJ. They come highly recommended by Broadlands. Second, I reserved two blocks of rooms at nearby hotels (If you're looking to plan ahead, just contact me and I will hook you up.) I will publish more information about the hotels as it gets settled. Finally, we have an appointment with a photographer that is recommended by one of my co-workers.

March 05, 2002 :: 11:00 PM

I have great and exciting news......we have a cake, a beautiful and glorious cake!!!!! My mouth has already started watering. We are really excited about getting the wedding cake - it is one less thing on our list. The cake is being made by the Golden Gourmet, which is located in Delafield. I put Rob in charge of finding the perfect cake since all he would ever talk about was just how great the cake was at Katy and Nelson's wedding last August. He liked it so much I think he some how "found" an extra piece that night. Anyway, he just had to have the same baker make our cake. Now all we have left is the photographer, flowers, DJ, wedding dress, bridesmaid dresses, tuxedos, decorations..........

February 26, 2002 :: 11:34 PM

I have one major update and one minor update. First, the minor update. The Family page has been updated to include my grandparents. I also expanded the names of our parents to show their name too. (For some reason they didn't like just "Rob's Mom.") Now for the major update. Kris and I found an apartment for this fall. It's a large two bedroom apartment in a house in the south west section of Madison's downtown. It's still close to my work, and even closer to Kris's bus routes. We are very excited about it. We also have made appointments to meet with two bakeries and a photographer. Kris has been out looking for dresses, but won't tell me a thing. I will just have to wait until the big day. As always, you input it always welcome via the comments after each post, or by the guestbook.

February 21, 2002 :: 08:57 PM

My Mom was nice enough to give Kris & I champagne glasses for Valentine's Day. She was also nice enough to include the gift receipt so that we could go pick out our own if we desired. We did desire, and we selected with the "Celebration" model. It's very fun and bubbly. Click on the images below to see larger ones.

February 14, 2002 :: 08:41 AM

Rob+KrisOn this Valentine's day, I wanted to give a "shout out" to my gal, and let her know about this really cool candy heart I found. (Actually, I made it at Acme Heartmaker.) Happy Valentine's Day, darling!

February 05, 2002 :: 10:34 PM

Finally, there is now a Guestbook so all that visit can sign their name. It's so easy. This was another technological feat for me, too. I got to dabble a bit in Miva, which is a scripting language that reads, stores, and recalls your input data to and from a database file. Very complicated and very cool all at the same time.

Did you know that you can also comment directly on each post, too? Sure! Just click the "Comments" word below each entry to make a comment! The number shows how many comments are made for each post.

More site updates to follow. There will be the wedding party page first, and then whatever fits in after that.

January 29, 2002 :: 09:24 AM

Here's what I learned today. Although many of you may have known it, I did not. Therefore, it's new to me. The word "fianc" (with one "e") is a man that is engaged to be wed to a woman, and "fiance" (with two "e's") is a woman that is engaged to be wed. (Don't forget the accents, either.)

January 28, 2002 :: 10:16 AM

This past weekend, my parents and Aunt Romayne were kind enough to search out some places for the rehearsal dinner. And, as luck would have it, The Seven Seas has the perfect room for us. It's available on September 6, too. The way everything has been falling into place, you would think that this was meant to be. Let's hope that remains true as we start to call the DJ, the flower shops, the bakeries, the limo/bus companies, the hotels, the dress shops, the tuxedo shops, and whoever else we have to call. I will post some of my Dad's pictures of The Seven Seas as soon as I can. I am also working on a guestbook for everyone that visits the site to sign. Look for more later this week.

January 21, 2002 :: 09:53 PM

Hey all! I updated some things on the site. There is now the Reception page, as we have selected the site at The Broadlands. We hope to get some more pictures up soon. I also added the countdown on the front page and changed the wording on the title picture. Currently we are starting to search for invitations, and we continuously look for songs. If you have any ideas, please let us know.

Oh, one more thing. I would like to give a "shout-out" to all my Mom's co-workers. Hello!

January 15, 2002 :: 12:01 AM

Well...it's been settled. The Wedding and Reception will be held on September 7, 2002. It's the first Saturday in September, the weekend after Labor day. The Wedding will be held at Ascension Lutheran Church in Waukesha, Wisconsin. The Reception immediately follow at The Broadlands Golf Club in North Prairie, Wisconsin.

January 12, 2002 :: 04:13 PM

Rob has been telling me that I need to start posting messages on this site. Thanks to everyone who has called, sent email messages, and sent cards on our engagement. You are all so sweet!! I guess the only neat thing I have to share with you is the fortune cookie messages we got last Friday, just minutes before Rob popped the big question. I think they are very fitting for the day. Rob's was - True happiness is never found through "getting" but through "giving". My fortune was - Love is in your future. How true!!

January 11, 2002 :: 12:05 AM

I just added some pictures of the families. It was a technological achievement for me. Now at least you will be able to identify who we are talking about. I have yet to add Nana & Papa, so don't fret if you thought I forgot about them.

We are getting closer to finalizing on a date. Kris's mom is helping locate a spot for the reception, but to no avail as of today. Keep your fingers crossed or say a prayer, whatever suits your fancy. More details to come as they develop.

January 08, 2002 :: 11:41 PM

Welcome to the news section of KrisandRob.com. Here you will find postings by Rob and Kris about the ongoing trials and tribulations of us trying to plan our wedding. Please check back often as this page will update many times a week.

Thanks for stopping by!
